Paper clay is a mixture of natural Australian clays and recycled paper fibres, wet-mixed and de-aired during manufacture to produce an extremely plastic and unique clay body. As the paper clay dries the physical strength of the raw clay increases giving the potter greater flexibility in the way the clay can be worked. It can be used in a wide range of hand-built, wheel thrown and moulded techniques. Finished items will be lighter in weight. It should be bisque-fired at a minimum of 10500C prior to to the application of underglazes and glazes to their respective manufacturers directions.
